I had always admired him. His youtube channel was one of the only things that ever gave me any joy nowadays. I seem to have lost the sight of any light recently. It was just another mundane Saturday. I'd already finished filming and editing the new video which was due to be uploaded the next day, which left the rest of my day completely empty. I decided to turn on the TV, but ended up flicking through channel after channel and not concentrating on any of the programmes. I turned the TV off again, sat down on the sofa and slipped into a daydream. It was, of course, about me and Dan. Dan, who'd I'd fallen instantly in love with the day I met him, who I'd pressured into getting a YouTube channel, who I'd moved into a flat in Manchester with. Soft mummer's came from below Dan's body, as Phil's black hair popped out from underneath the body and blue-green patterned blankets. "Dan, you're suffocating me… I don't want to die of suffocating thank you very much."

For the last week Dan had been feeling sick. First it was just his stomach, but ever since he woke up that morning he didn't feel good whatssoever. It had been a week since he saw his doctor, who gave him some Flucoxacillin and sent him home. It had been half a week since he started taking the pills, Dan has always hated swallowing pills so he just ate some biscuits so he could swallow his medication.

Now Dan was sitting on his bed in his University dorm still feeling terrible, He groaned, he didn't want to bother Phil, but he really didn't want to be alone. Phil was at the apartment; probably doing a video, playing a video game or browsing

Phil banged his head on his desk Dan had been gone for over two hours he said he would be right back. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat at the sickening feeling Dan was in trouble. He shouldn't call Dan he couldn't call Dan he would just think that I was being paranoid. However he just couldn't do nothing knowing his best friend may be hurt. Maybe some television may help to take his mind off the matter reaching for the remote he flicked on the television. "Come on, baby. You know I didn't mean it." Phil snaked an arm around Phil's waist and kissed his cheek.
"You can hold my hand..." Phil started and Dan's face lit up. "If you can catch me!" and with that, Phil set off across the golden-white stretch, giggling. Dan skipped after him, laughing. He was just glad Phil wasn't in an actual mood with him.
"Run baby, run!" Phil yelled over his shoulder.
"Don't ever look back!" Dan continued the lyric, closing in on Phil. He made one final lunge, wrapping his arms tightly around Phil's waist, knocking him to the ground. Phil squealed and tried to wriggle away, but Dan held him fast, draping a leg over his torso.

~Phil's POV~

I woke up near 3AM to hear what I heard to be muffled screams and sobs coming from Dan's room.

"Dan?" I said, knocking on his door, then opening it. "Dan, are you alright?"

He looked up at me in utter terror, which then changed to relief. His face was tearstained, and there were dark circles under his eyes. I bounded to his bed to comfort him.

"I can't close my eyes without seeing it, Phil," he stuttered through tears to me. I took him into my arms and hugged him tightly.

"Seeing what?" I whispered into his hair as I rocked him back and forth to calm him down.

"Sometimes it's – it's an awful face, or another time I can just see flames, as if they're right in front of me, or – or sometimes it y – you, but your face is beaten up, and you're h – hurt and crying for help. It's like I'm d – dreaming without really sleeping."

"Ssh, Dan. It's okay. I'm here now. There's nothing to worry about. Nothing's going to harm you, not while I'm around." He cried into my chest for a few minutes, and I kissed his forehead.

"Ph – Phil? Will you stay in here tonight? J – just for tonight. If that's okay…" Dan mumbled.

"Of course I will. Come here, you." I got under his covers and he snuggled into me. I stared up at his ceiling, and heard his breathing slow down. 'Damn,' I thought to myself as I played with his hair. 'This is the closest I'll ever get to Dan. Just a friend… A friend who cuddles… And plays with his friend's hair… And kisses his forehead. Oh god, he probably knows that I like him and he probably thinks I'm a freak.'

He started squirming and his eyes snapped open.

"You alright…?" I concernedly said, squeezing his shoulder.

"Yeah, I just – I just saw it again, ugh, oh god," he said, rubbing his eyes.

"It's alright; don't worry," I said as I stroked his cheek with my thumb. "I'm here." Then I did something that I would only have the courage to do at 3AM. I kissed him. I leaned in, and kissed him. And he kissed back.

"I've waited so long for that," he said whenever we pulled away.

"You and me, both," I said, smiling.

And this is also the first I've written since This Thing Hurts Like Hell. I feel slightly lost: not writing it.

but um, this is kind of based on something that happened to me. And then the song Sleep by My Chemical Romance kind of gave me more ideas about it. and yehh. The title's also from that song.
